A successful opening of the review „8 Masterpieces of Polish Cinema”

The film “Blind Chance” by Krzysztof Kieslowski opened the review „8 Masterpieces of Polish Cinema”. The screening attracted  a lot of Chinese cinema goers who filled up the auditorium. The tickets were sold out in no time.

In his film from 1981, Kieslowski considers the alternative paths of human fate. He wonders whether the hero would implement the same principles in completely different situations and to what degree blind chance can influence his future. Can he change his point of view, can he determine the place he is going to take in the society? The extraordinary narration of the “Blind Chance” has inspired many other film  makers , among them Tom Tykwer who, in 1998, directed “Run Lola Run”.

New screenings are ahead of us. Within the review the following films will also be shown: “Danton” and “Pan Tadeusz” by Andrzej Wajda, “Night Train” by Jerzy Kawalerowicz, “My Nikifor” by Krzysztof Krauze, “Closed Loop” by Ryszard Bugajski, “Warsaw 44” by Jan Komasa and “You are god” by Leszek Dawid.

The review „8 Masterpieces of Polish Cinema” is a part of the 2nd Edition of the „Polish Circles of Art in China Festival”. The screenings within this event will take place in Beijing, Wuhan and Fuzhou till the end of the year.
