The programme of the inaugural concert of the 2nd  Edition of „Polish Circles of Art. In China Festival”  by Grzegorz Niemczuk:

Part I. Wang Jianzhong: Colourful Clouds Chasing the Moon, The Liuyang River. Fryderyk Chopin: Nocturne in b-flat minor  op. 9 no.1, Nocturne in E-flat major op. 9 no. 2, Etude in C-flat major op. 10 no. 1, Etude in c-flat minor op. 10 no. 12 “Revolutionary”, Polonaise in A-flat major op. 40 no. 1, Wojciech Kilar/Grzegorz Niemczuk – Polonaise from the film “Pan Tadeusz – the Last Foray in Lithuania”

Part II. Fryderyk Chopin: 3 mazurkas op. 50 (No. 1 in G major, no. 2 in A-flat major, no. 3 in C-sharp minor ), 3 Waltzes op. 34 (no. 1 in A-flat major, no. 2 in a-minor, no. 3 in F-major), Piano Sonata No. 3 in B minor, Op. 58 (Allegro maestoso, Scherzo: Molto vivace, Largo, Finale: Presto ma non tanto).

 

GRZEGORZ NIEMCZUK

Grzegorz Niemczuk belongs to the most active Polish classical pianists of the young generation. He has already enjoyed a successful career having performed worldwide over the past 12 years. He has traveled the world and given more than 400 recitals and concerts in 31 different countries on all 6 continents. Admired for his sensitivity, poetry, beautiful sound and passionate virtuosity he became a favorite with audiences and critics alike especially in Europe, Asia and South America. His interpretations of Chopin’s music were placed in 2017 by the National Polish Radio together with those by Martha Argerich, Maurizio Pollini and Adam Harasiewicz.

Niemczuk’s vast repertoire consists of more than 200 solo pieces and 30 piano concerti ranging from the Baroque to the contemporary era. His particular specialty is the Romantic period.

During the last few seasons Grzegorz Niemczuk made his debuts as a soloist with numerous philharmonic orchestras, including New York Concerti Sinfonietta, Tokyo Mozart Virtuoso Orchestra, Busan Philharmonic Orchestra, Cracow Philharmonic Orchestra. He has performed as a soloist under the baton of distinguished conductors.

The season 2015/2016 brought many exciting concert tours to Mr. Niemczuk’s artistic life: Norway, Brazil, Peru, Malaysia, Singapore, Tanzania, Curaçao, Jamaica. In the year 2017 Grzegorz Niemczuk tours Poland, Norway, Brazil, Jamaica, Ecuador, Peru and Japan.

Grzegorz Niemczuk is the prizewinner of more than 15 piano competitions, notably a winner of the 2013 International Carnegie Hall Concerto Debut Competition in New York City and the 40th National Frederic Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (2010).

Mr. Niemczuk graduated with the highest distinction from K. Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice in the class of renowned Professor Józef Stompel. He continued his piano studies in New York City, Mannes College (International Keyboard Institute and Festival) where his teachers were prominent artists. Between 2009 and 2012 he stayed under the artistic care of a teacher and mentor Jeffrey Swann (New York Steinhardt University). He has also attended many masterclasses where he has collaborated with many great artists.

Grzegorz Niemczuk has received many honorable awards in his home country including from the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Culture and Art. He is regularly invited to attend prestigious music festivals.

In addition to his performing career, he is also a dedicated pedagogue and currently serves on the piano faculty of the Silesian University in Katowice, Poland. He is also invited to lead masterclasses and lectures in many universities of music.
