Metaphor – hidden on the surface

The aim of the lecture is to present Polish cultural posters in which the designers (by the use of consciously chosen graphic techniques and composition) surprise the audience with an additional artistic value such as metaphor. The metaphor will be shown in the poster and explained. Using it in poster design is characteristic to so called Polish school of poster. Metaphor is the ‘weapon’ in the hands of successors of this stream.

Sebastian Kubica– artist and scholar of graphic design, drawing, illustration and artistic design. He holds the chair of his author’s poster and illustration studio. He is the author of dozens of individual exhibitions and a participant of hundreds of group presentations, a judge of art competitions in Poland and abroad. He lectures and conducts workshops for students in graphic design at academies all over Poland and abroad. Member of Alliance Graphique Internationale since 2015.
