Agenda:
• General information about the faculty, lecturers and departments: the Department of Direction of Photography has existed in the Lodz Film School for almost 70 years.
• Presentation and accomplishments of the faculty in which the professors are both lecturers and directors of photography, not only working for the Polish film making industry but also worldwide (the USA, Great Britain, France, Russia and others).
• Other specializations at our department: animation and special effects, photography, television production.
• Information about the system of education: education system is based on the structure of a workshop which is led by another lecturer each year. The way of schooling is mainly based on ‘Master and Student’ system.
• We are the only school in which students start making etudes on analogue tapes ( black and white and coloured ones) and then move on to working on digital media. During the second year students are taught camera storytelling techniques and working on the screenplay. Besides writing the Master’s thesis students are also obliged to make a diploma film (it can be made either individually or together with a director – student of the Department of Film Direction).
• During the lecture there will be a presentation of etudes produced by students from the Department of Direction of Photography and Amination (in between the ones awarded at Camerimage)
• Panel discussion.
