To understand destiny. Realizations of the Multimedia Design Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice as an example of multimedia and their interactive language.

- General information about the Multimedia Design Department, the Faculty of Graphic Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice.
- Techniques: emphasis on experimental actions using cutting-edge multimedia techniques. Young designers have an opportunity to research the contemporary visual culture through modern multimedia and communication technologies.
- Topics of the diploma thesis (bachelor’s and master’s): animation, visual experiment, interface design, computer game design, creating and production of multimedia performances, video clips and interactive apps, mapping and VJing.
- Contemporary definition of the designer, creator or researcher.

Ksawery Kaliski graduated with distinctions from the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. In 2013 he got a PhD of Arts for his interactive work using PR•OR•OK, the artificial intelligence. Since 2013 he has been the owner of the Artmediale Company which deals with design, sculpture, and multimedia art. He cooperates with designers, IT programmers and musicians on advanced multimedia projects. He created a multimedia presentation for UNESCO called “ Memory of Poland – Memory of the World”. He is the author of the concept of the interactive Chopin Museum in Warsaw, the interactive exhibition in Wieliczka Salt Mine (on the UNESCO List) and the interactive installation EON for Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw. For some years he has been sculpting the Stations of the Cross in Jastrzebie-Zdroj. He got the Stipend of the Ministry of Culture and Art three times, in 2011 he got a medal of the Katowice Academy of Fine Arts and in 2015 he received a Bronze Cross of Merit from the President of Poland. At present he is an assistant professor at the Multimedia Design Department at the Katowice Academy of Fine Arts.
