About the musicians:

Three outstanding personalities of Polish Jazz – Oleś Brothers, acclaimed as rhythm dream team and the treasure of Polish Jazz, and Antoni Gralak, the legend of Polish Off Jazz. Improvisers, composers and virtuosos. The artists famous for their unconventional approach to jazz create music full of originality and vision. Their project PRIMITIVO is a beautiful ethno-jazz journey, exploring early, so called primitive, music, inspired by traditional folkloristic themes from all around the world, mostly from Africa, Tibet, Mexico. The public willing to explore new music territories will find this project fascinating in every respect: the musical choices, the candour of attitude and the perfection of execution.

Bartlomiej Oles – drummer, composer, music producer. Since 1991 he has been performing and recording with many prominent figures of the music scene around the world. The list of his colleagues appears in the names of such prestigious artists as: Kenny Werner, David Murray, Erik Friedlander, Mathew Shipp, Tomasz Stańko, Rudi Mahall, Theo Jorgensmann, Rob Browm, William Parker, Jorgos Skolias, Antoni Gralak, Christopher Dell, Andrzej Przybielski, Sameer Makhoul, Heo Yoon-Jeong, Herb Robertson, Jean-Luc Cappozzo, Adam Pierończyk, Stanley Jordan and many others. In the past 20 years he has recorded some thirty albums, five of which received the status of the album of the year. “Shadows” solo album recorded with American pianist Kenny Werner was named the best jazz album of 2006 in the world according to Polish Radio. Album “Sefardix” received Folk Phonogram of the Year Polish Radio 2013.

Marcin Oles comes from a musical family and he’s a musician in the fourth generation. His father was a bass player and conductor. Many albums of his discography were considered to be the best jazz albums in a given year, including his famous solo album “Ornette on Bass”.

Antoni Gralak – Polish trumpeter, composer, music producer. He collaborated with legendary formations: Free Cooperation and Young Power and rock bands: Sfora and Woo Boo Doo and also with the international formation Universal Supersession. He got famous as the co-creator of the powerful jazz-rock formation Tie Break which is considered one of few cult Polish music bands. He is a valued session musician, he cooperates with top jazz musicians and many pop stars (Twinkle Brothers, R.A.P., Voo Voo, Automatik, Jass Tri, Universal Supersession, Wilki, Raz, Dwa, Trzy, , Masala Sound System, Tymański Yass Ensamble, Pogodno, Stanisław Sojka, Justyna Steczkowska, Anna Maria Jopek, Nick Cave, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Andrzej Smolik Wojciech Waglewski, Maciej Maleńczuk). He composes film and theatre music and runs two projects: Graal and YeShe. In 1999 he established a studio Jasnachmura (a foundation to support culture) where he realizes film and multimedia projects, concerts and festivals.
